Where is October?

The second week in October is usually our biggest display of fall color, but the trees are staying green in this warm weather. Occasionally a leaf get tired and falls off, but no color change. Very unnerving for someone who loves color, but at least the furnace doesn't need to be turned on!

Paypal is still in the works, and so are the color cards, although every day I get a few more formulas standardized. The cards may even be done before Halloween.

Although Blue Hills did do a test batch for us, it was too difficult for them to do a full batch, so we are now trying Zeilingers, who have done sock yarn at more than 75 % angora, so we're hoping they can deliver the quality yarn we need.

Got my Ravelry invite, and you can find me under dyebat. Watch out, though--that site will keep you up till the wee hours of the morning!

Up and running

There will always be more to add, but at least we've got basic info and pricing up today. I'm in and out of town on my other (bookkeeping) business, but once I'm back I'm getting color cards underway.

For those of you who know Janice Becker of Kimmet Croft Fibers, she's doing much better now, but her doctor's still telling her to take it easy--not so easy for Jan to do, with all her energy!

Getting the new website underway!

We've got the "About" & Home" pages set up, and hope to get Jan's pictures and info on the Bohus yarns, as well as the order page updated by the end of next week. Since I'm always coming up with new yarns, patterns, kits, etc., those pages will be changing periodically. In addition to the 40% angora/60% wool yarn, I'll also be carrying 100% merino kits for all the wool sweaters in Poems of Color.

For those of you who do charity knitting, I've got a kid's sweater pattern I designed for bulky wool (or 2 strands of sport, DK or worsted weight), which I call the 17-hour sweater. It's a top-down raglan pullover which can be striped to use up odd balls. You don't have to use it for charity, but I made it up so I could knit it fast--the more sweaters for cold kids, the better!
